Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

Every year, the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development (NBD) offers CDBG funds to agencies and organizations that:

  • Develop high-quality, affordable housing by fixing up old buildings (or knocking them down to make space for new ones) 
  • Help people buy new homes 
  • Support programs for youth, adults, and seniors offered by nonprofit organizations and community centers

Who can apply?

Note that these grants are for organizations and agencies. Residents don’t apply for them directly. If you or your family need support, you can:

  • Call 211 or go to www.211cny.com to get connected to resources you need
  • Call us at 315-448-8100 to ask about organizations we fund that may be able to help
