Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)

NBD uses ESG to fund service providers that help individuals and families maintain or obtain permanent housing.

Service providers are funded under 3 activities:

  1. Homeless Prevention focuses on housing stability, which helps people to stay in their homes or obtain new affordable housing
  2. Rapid Re-housing offers case management and relocation services to people living  in shelters to overcome barriers and obtain affordable homes
  3. Street Outreach offers case management and referral services to people living on the streets (or similar places)

ESG funds work in collaboration with the Continuum of Care (CoC), the Housing and Homeless Coalition of Central New York (HHC), and community service providers.
