The City Payment Center produces and mails water bills weekly and services over 39,000 water accounts. For various reasons, a resident may have trouble paying water bills.
Low Income Housing Water Assistance (New York State)
If a resident is having trouble paying water bills, they may qualify for a grant through the Low Income Housing Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). Because the program is a grant, it does not need to be repaid if certain criteria are met. The program is managed through New York State.
