Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh:

“With Syracuse Common Council approval today, the Resurgent Neighborhoods Initiative (RNI) will be able to make the dream of new home ownership come true for five more Syracuse families. I thank Councilors for authorizing $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to Home HeadQuarters to help build five affordable, new construction single family homes on the near west side. The properties are located on Ontario and Otisco Streets and are part of our infill housing strategy to build 200 new single and two-family homes in neighborhoods around the city. More than 80 properties are finished or underway. The funds to Home HeadQuarters are part of the $11 million previously authorized by the Council as part of our ARPA strategy to invest in children, families and neighborhoods.”
