Shooting with Injuries on West Fayette Street

On Sunday, September 24
th,
2023, at around 3:00 a.m., officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to University Hospital - Downtown Campus, for the arrival of a walk-in shooting victim. The responding officers observed the 25-year-old male victim who presented with gunshot wounds to both of his legs. The victim relayed that he was outside of 127 West Fayette Street when he heard what he believed to be fireworks, after which, he realized he had been struck in both of his legs by gunfire.
The victim is listed as stable, and his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The investigation is active and ongoing, and anyone with information is strongly encouraged to call the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
