City Parks to Host Public Meetings for Potential Playground Projects

The City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs will host public meetings to gather feedback on potential future construction projects in three city parks: Barry Park, Elmwood Park and Cummings Field.

Each meeting will consist of an interactive community engagement session where residents can select potential design options for new playground features.

Mayor Owens Announces Annual Tour for Safe and Healthy Housing

Syracuse Mayor Sharon F. Owens announced the Division of Code Enforcement will host Healthy Housing 101, an annual tour to learn more about maintaining safe and healthy housing conditions in the city of Syracuse. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 16 at 324 Academy Place. Tours will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a break in the event between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood & Business Development has released its Action Plan for Program Year 52 (2026-27) Federal Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The draft plan is pending final approval by the Syracuse Common Council.
