Mayor Owens Appoints Meghan Vitale as Vision Zero Coordinator

Syracuse Mayor Sharon F. Owens announced the appointment of Meghan Vitale as the Vision Zero Coordinator, within the Department of Public Works. The role coordinates the ongoing efforts to become a Vision Zero City and eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries while improving safety for all road users.

Public Meeting on Regional Market Area Mobility Improvements March 5

The City of Syracuse Department of Engineering announced a public meeting on the Regional Transportation Center (RTC) and Regional Market Area Mobility Improvement project. The proposed work consists of improvements to mobility and safety for pedestrians and bicyclists who travel to the Regional Market, Regional Transportation Center, NBT Bank Stadium and Destiny USA area.

Reconnecting Communities to Unveil Designs for Five Key Corridors

March 04, 2026

The City of Syracuse will host an Open House on Wednesday, Mar. 4 to unveil proposed designs for the five key corridors — Colvin Street, Taylor Street, MLK Street, Adams and Harrison streets, and the proposed Linear Park planned between Roesler and Wilson parks. The project supports the City’s Vision Zero goals and complements the I-81 Viaduct Project.
