In Syracuse, we have a positive history of working with youth who want to apply their talents in the public service sector. Internships and fellowships are an opportunity to do that while making an impact on our city and how it serves people. We are looking for fellows that are thoughtful students, interested in municipal government, and believe in problem solving for good. As a Syracuse intern or fellow, you become a member of City departments responsible for projects, tasks, and research.

The major difference between internships and fellowships is that internships are for college classes or for college credit while fellowships are paid positions. You are not required to be a resident of the city of Syracuse to intern for the city but you are required to be a resident to do a most paid fellowships. In special instances, we have partnerships with universities and institutions that bring fellows from across the world. Those opportunities go quickly!
