Stabbing with Injuries at Catholic Charities Men's Shelter

On Tuesday, April 25th 2023, at around 3:18 a.m., members of the Syracuse Police Department responded to 1801 Erie Boulevard East, the Catholic Charities Men’s Shelter, for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, the officers entered the shelter and located a 49-year-old male victim who was found to have been stabbed in the upper body area multiple times. 
 
Syracuse Police Officers located and identified the suspect, Anthony Cerutti, 47, of Syracuse. He was taken into custody without incident. Cerutti was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
The victim remains at University Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
