Mayor Walsh Announces Road Reconstruction Projects on Near Eastside

Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced road reconstruction projects on the near Eastside beginning Wednesday, October 25. Crews will mill and pave the following roads:  

• Dakin Street from Westmoreland Avenue to Croly Street 
• Croly Street from Dakin Street to East Genesee Street  
• Westcott Street from East Fayette Street to East Genesee Street  
  

The roads will remain open during construction. Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes if possible. Some areas may be inaccessible while work is occurring but should open back up quickly and without resulting in major detours. The project is expected to be completed in about one week; actual project timeframe is contingent on favorable weather.
