Periodic Inspections

Other inspections are performed, if requested by the owner of the property, for properties that are mixed use or 3 family or more. These inspections are required every 5 years by the City of Syracuse for compliance with Property Conservation Code of the City of Syracuse (Chapter 27 of the Revised General Ordinances).

They may also be requested for a 1 or 2 family.

Elevator Inspections are also performed by an independent testing agency.

Certificate of Adequacy

This document is issued by the Division of Code Enforcement that, as of a specified date, an inspection was made of a 1 or 2 family structure which was found to be in substantial compliance with regard to structural, exterior protection, chimneys, flues and vents, plumbing, water supply, heating and electrical sections of Chapter 27 above. Certificate of Compliance

This document is issued by the Division of Code Enforcement that, as of a specified date, an inspection was made of a multiple dwelling or a building of mixed occupancy which includes residential occupancy which was found to be in substantial compliance with Chapter 27 above. These inspections are required every 3 years or for the transfer of title prior to sale. Contact the Permit Desk at 315-448-4700 for more information.

Certificate of Inspection

This document is issued by the Department of Code Enforcement by request by the owner of a business typically required for application to the New York State Liquor Authority. This certifies that the business is in substantial compliance with all applicable codes.
