Return of Annual Big Rig Day at Burnet Park

Published on May 12, 2022

The City of Syracuse’s annual Big Rig Day at Burnet Park will return on Saturday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children and their families can climb behind the wheel of some of the City’s biggest trucks from the Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks, and Water departments, as well as other rigs from local companies and organizations.

“We are really excited for the return of Big Rig Day this year,” said Parks Commissioner Julie LaFave. “Our community felt the absence of such an interactive and fun event. It really sets the stage for the fun and exciting summer we have in store here at Parks.”

The Parks Department Mobile Recreation team will also be onsite with exciting games and activities, including an inflatable obstacle course, giant Checkers, a giant Connect 4, and a balloon artist will also be in attendance.

Admission to the event is free. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Valley Men’s Club and Skippy’s Ice Cream truck.
