City Parks To Host Halloweenville 2022 at Burnet Park

Syracuse, N.Y. -The Department of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs will host Halloweenville 2022 at Burnet Park, 299 Coleridge Ave, 13204, on Friday, October 28 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 29 from 3:30 to 9:00 p.m. This family-friendly event is open to everyone and will offer tricks, treats and a movie showing of Hocus Pocus for free.

On Saturday, October 29, there will be a mini parade featuring a costume contest and trunk-or-treat. Participants must register onsite before the parade starts. Registration will take place at Burnet Park from 2:30–3:00 p.m. on October 29. Attendees must begin lining up for the parade at 3:15 p.m. by the playground service road. Costumes are required and must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. Volunteer judges will select one winner for the “spookiest,” “cutest” and “most creative” costumes in three separate age categories. The age categories include 0 to 5 years, 6 to 10 years and 11 to 16. The prizes will be simple and fun.

Friday, October 28

  • 5:00 to 6:15 p.m.: Carnival-like games and treats will be available in the semi-enclosed turf building.
  • 6:30 to 6:45 p.m.: Line dancing fun for all ages.
  • 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.: Hocus Pocus movie showing. Please bring chairs and blankets to keep you warm as this is an open-air facility.

Saturday, October 29

  • 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.: Mini parade including costume contest and trunk-or-treat
  • 5:00 to 6:15 p.m.: The parade will lead attendees right into an array of carnival-like games and more treats inside the semi-enclosed turf building.
  • 6:30 to 6:45 p.m.: Line dancing fun for all ages.
  • 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.: Hocus Pocus movie showing. Please bring chairs and blankets to keep you warm as this is an open-air facility.

The warming room and restrooms will be open 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. both nights. Free hot chocolate, cider and donuts will be available.
