It’s the official opening day for a new baseball-themed splash pad at Cummings Field in Eastwood. The attraction, located next to a popular longtime community baseball field, is located at 117 Edtim Road near Grant Village.
"The opening of water features at Cummings Field is a proud moment for our community," said Mayor Walsh. "It signifies the City’s commitment to providing safe, fun, and recreational spaces for our neighborhoods and provides another excellent opportunity for our community to beat the heat and spend quality time with loved ones during these hot summer days."
The splash pad is the result of community engagement and was largely driven by dedicated residents and community stakeholders. The project included the installation of a splash pad with user-activated push buttons, allowing users to control various interactive water elements, including ground jet geysers, water cannons, and a 360-degree spinning central feature in the larger play area.
“I am grateful to the Parks department for their diligence and hard work with updating and improving the Parks in Eastwood,” said Common Councilor Jimmy Monto. “The last few years have seen some major improvements, and the children of Eastwood are noticing.”
