Overview

The project includes the complete renovation of a vacant supermarket in the Valley Plaza on Syracuse's Southside, resulting in the creation of approximately 35 jobs and 22,000 square feet of modern retail space offering fresh produce, meats, and prepared foods to the neighborhood. The store will be called Super Imperial Market and be operated by a well-established grocer with experience running four stores in Buffalo, NY (called Buffalo Fresh, Imperial Market, and Buffalo Super Price Choppers).

Super Imperial Market will provide fresh, locally sourced goods that meet the community's diverse cultural and dietary needs. The grocer takes a hands-on approach to operations and will leverage supplier relationships to deliver competitive pricing and culturally relevant products. In addition to providing free grocery delivery to area seniors, the store will also feature fresh produce, a deli department, a meat department, ready-to-eat meals, a hot food kitchen, and essential household items. The store will be open seven days a week to ensure consistent access to healthy, fresh food options for the neighborhood.
