CRB tabled at the Westcott Fair to make connections and give out information about who we are and how we serve the community.

CRB Community Engagement Specialist tabled at the Salt City Market to spread awareness of CRB and give out information.

CRB went to the Center for Community Alternatives to teach citizens about who we are and how we serve the community.
CRB hosted a community event with Fall fun for youth and families.
CRB attended FOCUS Greater Syracuse and PEACE's second convening for resilience and met with great community members and agencies.
CRB's office and some board members toured the Onondaga County 911 Call Center to learn about the dispatch process and to make connections.
CRB presented to the Building Men students at Roberts Middle School. We taught them about their rights and about who we are.
CRB attending Northside Tomorrow's Neighborhoods meeting in November to make connections and give information to community members about CRB.
CRB tabled at Congressman Mannion's Onondaga County Senior Fair. We gave out information, talked to citizens, and made connections.
CRB attended FOCUS Greater Syracuse's Networking Mix and Mingle Event where we spread information about CRB and how we serve the community and made connections with other community agencies and members.
CRB tabled at the On Point for College Career Slam where we were able to talk to young adults about who CRB is and how we serve the community.
CRB joined Syracuse Mailman Tony and community members in a food basket giveaway on Christmas Eve. We fed 15 families in need during the holiday season.
CRB presented to the CCA members for a second time about who we are and how we serve the community.
CRB presented to the NAACP at their general membership meeting. CRB was happy to teach the members of the NAACP how we service the community.
CRB tabled the CNYCS Lunar New Year Celebration and spread the word about who CRB is and what we do.
CRB presented to the Center for Community Alternatives with a data presentation based off of their concerns/questions from the previous session.
CRB tabled the Syracuse Community Connections Village Bazaar in honor of Black History Month. We connected with citizens of all ages, informed the public about who we are and how we serve the citizens, and connected with community partners.
Syracuse Police Chief Mark Rusin and Deputy Chief Jason Tom coordinated with CRB to set up a training for the CRB board and staff. It was a day filled of education, conversation, and understanding. Thank you to everyone at SPD who put together great presentations and answered our questions. Special thank you to Mayor Owens for taking the time to stop in and join us in conversation.
CRB attended the Syracuse University Lender Center for Social Justice and Nascentia Health Expo. It was a great event with panels from elected officials to community leaders, community engagement, and connection.
CRB presented to 20 Parole Officers about what we do and how we serve the community. We gave them resources that they could extend to their individuals. We talked specifically to a group of juvenile justice officers also and explained the filing process for minors.
CRB attended the District 16 Community Resource Fair to teach citizens about their rights and to teach them about what we do and how we can assist them if they shall need us.
Our Administrator, Nolita Tanyhill, and our Chair of the Board, Don Johnson, attended the NYS Oversight Conference: Spring 2026. CRB was invited to attended the conference from the NYS Oversight Consortium which includes the Civilian Complaint Review Board, Rochester Police Accountability Board, and the National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement.
We had a great time connecting with the community! We gave out brochures, information, and had awesome conversations.
Members of our Staff and Board attended the100 Black Men of Syracuse 2026 Renaissance Gala. It was a night filled with community, connection, and support.
CRB attended Hiscock Legal Aid's networking event at the Salt City Market where we made connections, received resources for the community, and learned about Hiscock Legal Aid's service for our community.
CRB tabled at the Nottingham High School Unified Basketball game versus Cazenovia to share information about how CRB is here for the special needs community and to help bridge the gap between them and law enforcement. We gave out brochures on tips for interactions with police for the cognitively and physically impaired.
The Citizen Review Board attended the NAACP annual dinner to connect with community members and support the NAACP.
CRB tabled Congressman Mannion's Senior Fair where we connected with community members and partner organizations. We distributed brochures and information about how CRB supports the community of Syracuse.
