Current Zoning Map

In 2023, the Syracuse Common Council passed a law updating the city's zoning ordinance. The Zoning Map made available here designates the zoning for every property in the City as of July 1. These properties are grouped together into larger zoning districts including Residential, Office, Local Business, Central Business, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Lakefront, and Development.

Guide to the Zoning Map:

  1. Click the “By Clicking here I Agree” link below to open the Zoning Map Index

  2. Scroll through the Map Index to find the general location of the property.

  3. Zoom and scroll through the Zoning Map to find the property and its designated zoning.

  4. Pan over to the Legend on the right side of the map to see the property’s Zoning Designation legend item then refer to the associated Part B - District Regulations(PDF, 2MB).

  5. The Zoning Ordinance in its entirety, including definitions and general regulations such as parking, signs, screening devices, special permits, and project site review, can be found on the Zoning Rules and Regulations page.
