10-year-old boy shot in the leg

On Saturday, April 8th, 2023, at around 5:30 P.M., Officers responded to the 700 block of South Geddes Street for a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located an 10-year-old male who was shot in the leg. The male was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. Another 8-year-old male was located on the scene with a laceration to the head. His injury was determined to be something other than gunfire.

During the investigation on the shooting scene, Edward Cruz-Laureano, 24, broke through a secure crime scene. As a result, he was arrested and booked for Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest.
