Mayor Walsh Statement on Common Council's Adoption of FY25 City Budget

Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on Common Council Adoption of Fiscal Year 2024-25 City Budget:

“The adopted city budget for fiscal year 2024-25 supports our proposed spending plan with strong commitments to neighborhoods, city services and families. It increases funding to the Syracuse Housing Trust Fund which will facilitate new quality housing and help current property owners fix up the aging housing stock. It puts more money into the Syracuse Land Bank and blight remediation in city neighborhoods. The budget also makes smart and strategic investments in public safety, infrastructure, jobs, schools, and parks. I thank the Council for its thorough review of the budget over the past weeks. As required by the City Charter, I will review and respond to the Council’s amendments by May 20.”
