It is the intention of the City of Syracuse to solicit proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide general engineering services necessary for the operation of the water system on behalf of the Department of Water. The City of Syracuse intends to select one or more consultants to provide these professional services as needed. Although consultant selection will be qualification based, a Billing Rate Schedule must be submitted.
The contract awarded pursuant to this RFP shall be a general service contract to allow the Department of Water to have ready access to water system engineering services on an as-needed basis. The Commissioner of the Department of Water shall issue work orders on an as needed basis for services to be provided under the general engineering services contract.
Services are needed relative to regulatory and environmental activity, water system investigations, evaluations, improvements and repairs.
Under previous general engineering services contracts the Department of Water has sought assistance to provide resident inspection on water main installation projects, bid specification, design services and construction administration on a pump replacement project.
