The City of Syracuse Police Department (SPD) invites marketing and advertising agencies with prior experience working with government, public safety, or similar organizations to submit proposals for professional services that will support the Department’s recruitment initiatives.
The selected agency will develop and execute creative strategies that enhance the Department’s visibility and support recruiting efforts for sworn staff.
The City of Syracuse Police Department, like many other law enforcement agencies across the country, is facing significant staffing shortages due to retirements and a reduction of candidates applying to become police officers. An additional struggle SPD faces is the timing of the announcement of the civil service exam to become a police officer. The civil service police exam is offered twice a year. The registration window for the exam is open for 4-6 weeks prior to the exam. Limited notice is given prior to the registration window opening.
In recent years, the Syracuse Police Department has recognized the importance of clear, consistent, and professional communications across digital, print, and traditional media platforms to target a diverse population. The Department seeks a marketing partner to help recruit the next generation of officers and inform the public about the opportunity to become a Syracuse Police Officer.
