Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on Common Council’s Unanimous Approval to Authorize Syracuse Housing Strategy Corporation Funds
“With the Council’s authorization to award allocated Syracuse Housing Strategy Corporation funds to the Syracuse Urban Renewal Agency (SURA), programming for the Syracuse Housing Strategy will be able to take the next steps forward to improve housing for city neighborhoods. The $2.5 million of City funding is essential to continue implementation and open programming for residents. Funds will be used to launch the Syracuse Housing Strategy in the Salt Springs and Tipperary Hill neighborhoods to help fix up their homes and improve blocks of target areas together. I appreciate the Council working with us to advance the next steps for neighborhood outreach and program implementation,” said Mayor Ben Walsh.
