Parks and Recreation Announces Pool Schedule for July 4th Weekend

The Syracuse Department of Parks of Recreation and Youth Programs announced the city pool schedule for the July 4th weekend.  Seven pools – Onondaga, Burnet, Kirk, Lincoln, McKinley, Thornden, and Wilson – will be open during the holiday weekend. Burnet Park will be closed on Saturday, July 5 for a swim meet; Onondaga Park will be closed on Friday, July 4.

“We are ready to welcome city residents to our pools and parks this weekend. On Friday, we will give our staff at Onondaga Park pool, which has performed so well over the past week and a half, a well-deserved respite to spend time with their families. Onondaga pool will reopen for regular hours on Saturday and Sunday,” said Syeisha Byrd, Parks Recreation and Youth Programs commissioner.  

The Syracuse Police pools detail, which has been in operation for the past week, will be on duty throughout the weekend. The roving SPD patrols visit all pools during operating hours. 

Holiday Weekend Open Swim Schedule: 

Friday, July 4: 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 

Saturday, July 5: 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 

Sunday, July 6: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
