Past Zoning Atlas Maps

In 2023, the Syracuse Common Council passed the new zoning ordinance. The Past Zoning Atlas Maps designate the zoning for every property in the City prior to 2023. In the series of maps, properties are grouped together into larger zoning districts including Residential, Office, Local Business, Central Business, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Lakefront, and Development.

Guide to the Zoning Maps:

  1. Scroll through the Map Index to find the general location of the property.

  2. Click on the Red Grid Number to open the area Zoning Map.

  3. Zoom and scroll through the Zoning Map to find the property and its designated zoning.

  4. Pan over to the Legend on the right side of the map to see the property’s Zoning Designation legend item then refer to the associated Part B - District Regulations(PDF, 2MB).

  5. The Zoning Ordinance in its entirety including definitions and general regulations such as parking, signs, screening devices, special permits, and project site review and can be found on the Zoning Rules and Regulations page.
